Kris' Story

Hi! I'm Kris. I'm the owner and creative designer behind Design Studio By Kris. Thank you for wanting to learn more about me. I hope my story inspires you in one way or another to reach for your dreams, no matter what. Everyone's story begins somewhere.

This small business journey has been a long time coming for me. I have struggled with opening my business like many business owners before me, and I am sure, many more to come. And like many others, this fear had once held me back from truly diving in and creating a life I love. A life I don't need a vacation from. That is exactly what I envisioned for myself when I began this journey. It was not an easy road though, and this is what I am hoping will resonate with others. Not every journey can be sunshine all the time. But one day at a time, I made it happen. Some days are much more difficult to find the light, but it always glimmers.

Before I began my small business, I was diagnosed with anxiety and PTSD. Before starting this journey, those disorders controlled me. With time (and my support pets, lots of patience and healing) I'm finally able to put all my love and energy into this business. The bad days still occur sometimes, but the better days are what I live for. Sometimes it looks like rocking it from morning to night, creating and feeling motivated. Other days it means eating peanut butter out of the jar in my pajamas all day binging netflix until I'm feeling restored. It's called balance - whatever that looks like for you!

This is my passion. Creating. Designing. Providing a solution. I am living a life of creative expression and designing beautiful and unique items from the heart. I'm creating quality products and lasting memories with every new day. Not only am I loving what I do, I am loving who I am becoming. This is growth.

I thoroughly enjoy designing and creating items that I stand behind as a store owner. Items that I have in my own home and use in my daily life. I feel pride in my work because I know that each item is made with love and made to last.

I have created this business because animals, art and creativity are what truly sparks a fire within me. I finally have the confidence and self love to be able to open up and fully enjoy my journey with every ounce of my being.

I hope my story inspires other people who have experienced any sort of trauma to live their authentic lives. To love themselves enough to do what sets their heart and soul on fire and not allow people to tell them what they can or can not do. To empower all individuals to do anything they can to make their life worth living to the fullest. I am just beginning my journey but I am confident that this new path will take me places I have never dreamed of.
